Liane Lamothe of Lisbon waits patiently in line with dozens of others who attended the Community Outreach Program in a parking lot on Spring Street in Auburn on Wednesday. The Greater Androscoggin Humane Society was offering free rabies shots and other immunizations. Lamothe’s baby Pomeranian, Lucy, keeps warm in her pocketbook. She is the youngest offspring of Sissy, which Lamothe is holding while another offspring from an earlier litter, Lona, begs to be picked up. According to Zachary Black of the Humane Society, it was the first but not the last time this will be offered.
