Poland Historical Society to meet
POLAND — The April meeting for the Poland Historical Society will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 6, in the old school house on Poland corner. The public is welcome.
Along with the business meeting, many topics will be discussed, including the open house to be planned for April 22.

Honey bee club to meet
PARIS — Oxford Hills Honey Bee Club will meet at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 8, at the Oxford County Extension Center, 9 Olson Road.
Speaker will be Lincoln Sennett, a master beekeeper, commercial beekeeper and owner of Swan’s Honey.
The subject of his talk will be varroa mite control using oxalic acid.

Paris Library spring, Easter party
PARIS — The Paris Public Library will host its annual children’s spring and Easter party from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. Saturday, April 8.
The party will feature Easter bingo with jelly beans, Easter and spring picture book sharing, bunny hopping scotch and the crafts of paper strip eggs and paper-folded butterflies.
For the first-time, the Easter egg hunt will be held at the Deering Memorial Community Center, providing much more space to search for the elusive eggs.

Farmington Contradance April 8
FARMINGTON — A Contradance will be held from 6:30 to 10:30 p.m. Saturday, April 8, at the Farmington Grange, 124 Bridge St.
This will be a family dance plus a regular Contra,
Admission is $3 for a small kid plus parent or $6 for adults, $5 for students or $15 for a family maximum.
Franklin County Fiddlers will perform, and John McIntire will call.
All dances taught. Beginners are welcome. No partner is necessary.

Kindergarten registration at Hartford, Sumner
SUMNER — Kindergarten registration and screening for the 2017 kindergarten class at the Hartford-Sumner Elementary School will take place from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday, April 12 and 13.
All children who are registered must be 5 years old on or before Oct. 15, 2017.
Parents and guardians should be prepared to provide their child’s name, address, telephone number and date of birth and bring an official copy of the child’s birth certificate.
Screenings last approximately 1 hour.
