WILTON — An open forum will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday, April 9, to discuss the state’s essential programs and services funding formula and how it pertains to Regional School Unit 9 at the Town Office.
Sen. Tom Saviello, R-Wilton, will discuss the Essential Programs and Service formula to show people how it works from the state’s side and compare it to last year’s budget and the district’s cost compared to other regional school units.
Saviello will also talk about restructuring the 16-member RSU 9 board of directors by looking at another option that does away with weighted votes.
Besides Saviello, former RSU 9 Director Yvette Robinson and current Director Craig Stickney will also take part in the forum.
Members of the Citizens for Common Sense Education has been trying to get the word out on the forum.
The public is invited to attend and ask questions pertaining to the topics presented.
