PROSPECT – Looking for something to do with the kids during spring vacation? Come on over to Fort Knox.

Fort Knox and the Penobscot Narrows Observatory will be open Monday, April 17 through Sunday, April 23, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Both sites will reopen for the entire season May 1.

Explore the massive cannons and dark passageways of one of America’s best-preserved granite fortifications. Bring the kids! They love to explore the dark spooky tunnels. The Friends of Fort Knox gift shop will be open as well!

Planning a reunion, birthday party or wedding? Consider hosting your event at Fort Knox or the observatory. The observatory has a pavilion for rent that overlooks the mighty Penobscot River and comes complete with a gas grill. Don’t forget to check out the many Fort special events during the season at the Friend’s of Fort Knox web site: fortknox.maineguide.com
