KINGFIELD — Poland Spring Water Co.’s bottling plant in Kingfield has been honored with the 2016 Retail Manufacturing Excellence Award from parent company Nestle Waters North America.
Kingfield Plant Manager Chris McKay accepted the award on the facility’s behalf at a ceremony in Orlando, Florida, on March 14.
Each year Nestle Waters gives special recognition to one of its 30 bottled water facilities from across the United States and Canada. It considers many metrics, including accident reports, productivity, employee engagement and consumer complaints.
With a $25 million investment, Poland Spring is adding a third line at the Kingfield facility It is expected to be operational in May. The company has hired 20 new employees.
