Coach: Ross Fidler (Second year)
Class: C; Conference: MVC
Last year’s record: 5-5 (Lost in MAISAD final)
Returning athletes: Seniors — Jack Morton (2B/SS), Mason Henley (C), Matt Meikle (3B/P); Juniors — Ryan Kappelmann (1B/P), Quinn Woods (3B); Sophomore — Charlie Morton (OF).
Key losses: Ben Upton, Isaiah DuBois.
Promising newcomers: Senior —Eijiro Saito (SS/P), Ross LeBlond (OF), Nick Cline (1B), Nick Howard (OF) ; Sophomore — Sein Teramoto (OF); Freshmen — Joe Godomsky (OF/P), Ethan Ganley-Green (OF/2B).
Season outlook: Thanks to the weather, the Lumberjacks had a couple of games postponed by press time. Once they do start up, Fidler expects their relaxed but focused attitude to pay off. They’ve added some upperclassmen to the roster who will add some pop to the lineup, and are strong up the middle with Henley and brothers Jack and Charlie Morton. Kappelmann leads the pitching staff, and the hope is with increased stamina he can keep them in games late. If the younger additions can contribute, they will have a chance to get over one last hump to a MAISAD championship.
