LEWISTON — Madeline Mary Ange Roy, of Durham, passed away Saturday, April 8, at Central Maine Medical Center surrounded by her loving family after a three long years’ struggle with COPD.

Maddy, as she liked to be called, was born in Upper Frenchville on Dec. 11, 1939. She was the daughter of the late Camille and Mary Ange Chasse Voisine. In 1959, she married Herman St. Pierre and they had three daughters. In 1973, she remarried Lawrence E. Roy Jr. and they had a son. She lived 39 years in Durham and was very much loved by everyone who came to know her. Maddy loved children and baby sat many neighborhood toddlers in the early years. She was passionate about bingo and enjoyed playing right up to a few months before her passing.

Maddy is survived by her devoted husband of 44 years, Lawrence E. Roy Jr. of Durham; daughters, Sharon Hardesty and husband, Rusty, of Poland, Linda Brooks and husband, Steve, of Lisbon, Diane St. Pierre and partner, Reggie, of Lewiston; and a son, Lawrence K. Roy of Winthrop; two sisters, Lorraine Godin and husband, Gary, of Connor and Brenda LeBrecque and husband, Mike, of Lewiston; a brother, Ronald Voisine of North Dakota. She will be sadly missed by her grandchildren who loved their memere, also four great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Maddy was predeceased by both her parents and a younger brother, Leo James Voisine.

The family wishes to extend a sincere thank-you to the staff at CMMC for the comfort and support in her final days.
