TOPSHAM — Rita G. Warren, 83, of Topsham passed away peacefully at her home on Wednesday, April 12.

She was born in Lewiston on Dec. 1, 1933, a daughter of the late Fernand and Simone Pelletier Gagnon. She grew up in the Lewiston area and attended local schools there. On Aug. 22, 1953, she married Francis O. Warren at St. Peter’s Church in Lewiston and they started a family together.

During that time, they owned and operated the family dairy farm in Lisbon. She also worked for several years at both RCA and Maine Electronics.

In 1980, they moved to Sanford, Fla., to help take care of family members in need. Then, in 1997, they moved back to the Warren Farm on Route 9 in Lisbon. The farm was sold in 2006 and she moved to Topsham, where she would permanently reside.

Rita will always be remembered for her love of gardening, flowers and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, whom she loved dearly.

She is survived by her two children, Pauline Husman and her husband, David, of Topsham, and Ralph Warren and his wife, Monica, of Colorado. She also leaves behind a sister, Connie Ruel and her husband, Ray, of Lewiston; her seven grandchildren, Christine Estes of Florida, Mark Judd of Richmond, Jeremy Judd and his wife, Melanie, of Mechanic Falls, Steven O’Neal and his wife, Heather, of Topsham, Ryan O’Neal and his wife, Dixie, of Dresden, and Rowen and Kiara Warren, both of Colorado; as well as her nine great-grandchildren, Dalton and Kayla Estes, Mark, Baylee and Natalie Judd, Syenna and Steven O’Neal and Anabelle and Ava Judd. She will deeply missed by all of them.

She was predeceased by her loving husband, Francis, in 2001; her twin sister, Theresa Fowler; her brother, Henry Gagnon; and her former son-in-law, Steven O’Neal.
