NEW SHARON — A fire destroyed a mobile home on Swan Road in New Sharon Saturday morning and sent a 15-year-old boy to the hospital.
The fire was reported at around 11:40 a.m.
The young boy was the only one home when the fire began in a back bedroom. He was transported to Franklin Memorial Hospital by ambulance to receive treatment for smoke inhalation.
Fire crews from Temple, Farmington, Wilton, Industry and Chesterville assisted New Sharon firefighters at the scene. The fire was knocked down around 3 p.m, according to Fire Chief John Welch.
The fire marshal deemed the home a total loss. Welch said the home was not insured.
The cause of the blaze has not been determined, Welch stated.
