FORT KENT — University of Maine at Fort Kent and the TRIO Student Support Services program held the annual recognition banquet on April 18 to honor students involved in the TRIO program.
The Student Support Services awards recognize students for their successful transition to higher education and their proactive approach to academic achievement.
The following students were honored for their significant improvement to academic achievement and recognizing their increased efforts toward becoming a successful student: Brittney DeRoche, Peru; Chelsea Frey, West Paris; and Adriarna Ross, Peru.
Habiba Mohamed of Lewiston was recognized for significant determination and persistence toward academic achievement and attaining academic goals.
Chelsea Frey of West Paris was recognized and presented with a Student Support Services cord, which she will wear at graduation.

• Most Successful Senior Award: Courtney Bubier, Jay.
• Honorable Mention: Adriarna Ross, Peru.
