DOUSED OUT — Above, Harrison Firefighter Josh Laird douses a fire on Thursday, May 4, which started as branches on electrical wires and spread into a brush fire on Route 35 (Waterford Road) in Harrison. The call came in at 2:49 p.m. Along with Harrison, Bridgton and Naples were toned out due to closeness to structures, according to Town Manager George “Bud” Finch. In the spring, even with the wet ground from the snow melt and the rain, brush fires are still a threat and can quickly spread. Finch thanked Central Maine Power for its quick response and to Catherine MacMahon for the pictures.
