Volunteers needed for Memorial Day Parade

LIVERMORE FALLS — The Memorial Day Parade committee is looking for scouts, 4H, school groups, church groups, fire departments, ATV clubs, businesses, towns, town officials, state and national leaders and many others to participate in the parade and service.

This is a community parade to honor and remember those who gave themselves for the nation. The theme for the 2017 Memorial Day Parade is ” Those We Have Lost.”

Anyone who may have convertible cars or trailers that can be used to carry the parade marshall, veterans, auxiliary members, and others in the parade, contact Don Simoneau or Diane Getx.

More volunteers are needed to help plan the parade, as this is one of the few Memorial Day Parades that are still running. The communities of Jay, Livermore, Fayette and Livermore Falls have had these parades and gatherings since the Grand Army of the Republic, after the end of the Civil War in 1868.
