AUBURN — Anna Piirainen, Madison Starbird and Kenzie Kahkonen each doubled in Oxford Hills’ 7-5 victory over KVAC rival Edward Little on Thursday.

Erin Morton, Hannah Kenney, Kasia Heikkinen had a pair of hits and an RBI each for the Vikings (4-4), as well.

Emmy Lashua had three hits and four RBIs for the Red Eddies, and Chantel Ouellette also had three hits and an RBI as EL (6-2) tried to claw back from an early deficit.

Lisbon 8, Telstar 3, 9 innings

BETHEL — Brittany Norman had three hits for Lisbon as the Greyhounds defeated Telstar 8-3 in nine innings.

She also made a defensive stop in the bottom of the seventh when she picked off a line drive and doubled up the runner trying to get back to third base.

Lisbon broke game open in the top of the ninth. Norman led off with a base hit. The Greyhounds had three more hits in the inning and a walk. The Rebels committed four errors in the inning, and five runs came across the plate.

Carly Drischler and Ali Sult had a pair of hits for Lisbon (5-2).

Josie Forbes had four hits for the Rebels (5-3) while Tasha Hart, Taylor Mason and Hannah Evans each had two hits.

Spruce Mtn. 20, Mt. View 8

THORNDIKE — Alex Bessey cracked three hits, including a triple, and picked up the win in the circle as Spruce Mountain routed Mt. View, 20-8, in six innings in KVAC Class B softball.

Grace Harmatys also had three hits for the Phoenix (2-4). Allison Acritelli, Calley Baker and Lyndzi Dolloff added two hits apiece to Spruce’s 15-hit attack.

Monmouth 15, Dirigo 5

MONMOUTH — Tia Day had three hits, including two doubles, and four RBIs as Monmouth defeated Dirigo 15-5.

Emily Chasse also had two doubles and drove in two runs. Hannah Anderson and Mariah Herr each had a pair of hits including a double. Katie Harris had three hits while Sarah Scott and Deanna Bauer had a pair for the Mustangs (8-1).

Nicole Whiteman had a pair of hits which included a double for Dirigo while Maddie DeGroot had a double. Katie Morse, Lillie Williams and Gabrielle White had a pair of hits for the Cougars (2-5).

Baseball

Spruce Mountain 13, Mt. View 8

THORNDIKE — Nate Goodine had a pair of hits and three RBIs to pace Spruce Mountain to a 13-8 victory over Mt. View.

Jordan Daigle had a two-run single in a seven-run top of the fourth inning for the Phoenix (3-3). Austin Gilboe had a double in the game. Logan Moffet picked up his first career victory on the mound.

Mt. View (2-5) was sparked offensively by Colby Furrow, who had two doubles, three RBIs and three runs scored. Joey Danna also had a double. 

Mountain Valley 8, Oak Hill 5

WALES — Jon Adley had a two-run double as Mountain Valley defeated Oak Hill 8-5 in an MVC contest.

He also had two singles in the game.

Nick Newman and Jacob Beauchesne also had a double for the Falcons (5-2). Newman also had a single in the contest.

Adam Mooney and Reed Cote each had a double for the Raiders (3-4).

Lisbon 4, Telstar 1

BETHEL — Noah Austin allowed just two hits in eight innings to win a pitcher’s duel with Telstar’s Zack Hill after the Greyhounds scored three in the eighth for a 4-1 victory.

Austin matched the Rebels (2-8) with two hits of his own and scored the first run for the Greyhounds (7-1). Telstar tied it with an unearned run in the third before Ryley Austin, Noah Austin and Nick Lerette strung three hits together to put Lisbon back in front.
