
One of nine ducklings rescued by firefighters from a drainpipe at Bates College in Lewiston on Monday is held before being reunited with its mother. Fire Capt. Rick Cailler said the ducklings were healthy and are now reunited with their mother. They were found behind Laine Hall and were pulled out of the drainpipe with assistance from a college staff member. “I don’t know his name, but he deserves a lot of the credit,” Cailler said. Lewiston firefighters were assisted by a college staff member in the effort.
