WEST PARIS — Olga Buccina, 92, died Saturday, May 20, at the Ledgeview Living Center in West Paris. She was a resident of Rumford.

Born in Rumford on April 6, 1925, she was a daughter of the late Natale and Cleofe Corti Saisi. She was a lifelong resident of this area, graduating from Stephens High School in the Class of 1943. She was active as a cheerleader, in sports clubs and other activities, belonging to the Commercial Club and Shorthand Group. After graduation, she worked for the Oxford Paper Company as a secretary and bookkeeper for 13 years, retiring to start her family.

Olga was an avid reader and leaves an extended library of over 6,000 books and had donated many to the Rumford Library, the Free Store and friends. She enjoyed sports and over the years always made bets on the outcome of pro sports with her sons and friends. She enjoyed taking trips to casinos with a group of close friends and playing cards with close friends and neighbors for afternoon breaks. She was a very helpful and supportive mother, always there when needed, especially for the grandchildren.

Olga was married on May 24, 1947, to Joseph Buccina and together they celebrated nearly 70 years of marriage.

Survivors include her husband, Joseph of Rumford; a son, Gregory R. Buccina of Rumford, his children Brian of South Charleston, R.I., Eliza Marie of Rumford, and Joey Louise Buccina of Bangor; a son, Scot A. Buccina and wife, Nancy, and their son, Andrew Joseph of Hobe Sound, Fla.; daughter, Kory Lynn Buccina and her daughter, Briana Rose of Bangor; a sister, Marie Boudreau of Rumford; a sister-in-law, Joyce Crosby Saisi of Rumford; and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by sisters, Flora Saisi Angilloil and Tina Paterson; and two brothers, Dr. Robert Saisi and Michael Saisi.

The family would like to thank the Ledgeview Nursing Living Center and Androscoggin Home Health Care and Hospice for their care and kindness shown to Olga.
