PARIS — The Memorial Day parade on Monday, May 29, will step off at 10:30 a.m. from the lower parking lot heading to Moore Park, led by grand marshals Dominik and Diane Klinger.
The Memorial Day events at Moore Park will include:
First Vice Commander Joseph Woodbury, master of ceremonies, will give the welcome address and lead the Pledge of Allegiance. The Rev. Mary Beth Caffrey will give invocation and benediction. Terry Hayes, treasurer of Maine, will give the Memorial Day address.
Oxford Hills Comprehensive High School Band will perform the national anthem, taps and a musical selection.
Gen. Logan’s General Order No. 11 will be read by Gil Turner; President Abraham Lincoln’s Gettysburg Address, Art Hill; “In Flanders Field,” Boys State representative; and America’s answer to “In Flanders Field,” Auxiliary Girls State representative. Auxiliary President Carol Gould will present a Memorial to Sailors of All Wars at Veterans Monument.
The parade will reform and march back to Legion Hall.
In case of inclement weather, the event will be held at the Paris Fire Station, 137 Western Ave.
