LISBON — Therese G. (Cote) Champagne, (Theresa, Terry), 88 of Lisbon, passed away on Wednesday, May 24, at her home, with her children by her side.

She was born in Lewiston on Aug. 1, 1928, the daughter of the late Joseph H. Cote and Marie P. (Lapointe) Cote. She was educated at St. Bernadette School in Lisbon.

On June 29, 1946 she married Joseph C. Champagne of Augusta at St. Anne’s Church in Lisbon. They were married for over 59 years.

Terry was employed at Farnsworth and Worumbo Woolen Mills for many years. Later she worked at Raytheon in Lewiston for five years and then at Maine Electronics in Lisbon for 19 years, before retiring. After they both retired she and Joe enjoyed taking bus tours all over the country. They made many lasting friends on their tours and brought back many fun souvenirs. She especially enjoyed their visits to her brother Clarence and Bunny’s home in New York.

She was a life-long communicant of St. Anne’s Church in Lisbon, now Holy Trinity Church in Lisbon Falls, where she served as an usher for many years. She enjoyed volunteering for many years working on the church fundraisers and sales.

Terry was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. It was so easy to please her. She had a great sense of humor and always had a smile on her face. Mom, the perennial 39 year old, enjoyed shopping days with her daughter, sitting on her back porch, reading, knitting, caring for her flower garden and baking wonderful desserts over the years. But her greatest joy was being with her family, attending all the celebrations and holidays that came along. She especially loved it when she got surprise visits or calls from her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and loved hearing about what activities they were all involved in.
