RUMFORD — Gary R. Coolidge, 65, of Mexico, passed away on Friday, May 26, at Rumford Hospital following a brief illness.

He was born in Lewiston on April 3, 1952, a son of Harold and Rita (Weston) Coolidge.

Gary was educated in Auburn schools.

He was employed as a truck driver for G.H. Bass & Co. and KMC Trucking, a subdivision of Pike Industries.

Gary loved fishing, riding his motorcycle, spending time with his family, and just being outdoors.

He was a volunteer for Turner Rescue for 15 years and participated in an ambulance rodeo competition, taking first place.

Gary was the family pet sitter, and on an extended vacation to Florida to visit family, he enjoyed riding the golf cart on all the trails with the family dogs.

Surviving are his wife, Patricia (Baltrus) Coolidge of Mexico; son, Dustin Coolidge and wife, Amanda, of Lakeland, Fla.; daughter, Christina Mae Jordan and fiancé, Bobby Hazelwood, of Lakeland, Fla., stepsons, Peter J. Peare and wife, Mystie, of Berlin, N.H., and Nathan P. Arsenault of Mexico; a sister, Susan Strout and husband, Reggie, of Strong; eight grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was predeceased by his parents; and his beloved cat, Smokey.
