SABATTUS — Police are searching for a Green Street man accused of assaulting a child last week before fleeing into the woods to evade capture.
Arrest warrants have been issued for 43-year-old Urban Blaisdell in connection with the May 23 incident.
Blaisdell is wanted on charges of domestic assault, endangering the welfare of a child, domestic threatening, tampering with a witness and refusing to submit to arrest.
Blaisdell has a criminal history of assaults in the area. In November, he was sentenced to 90 days in jail after he was convicted in an assault that occurred in the summer of 2016.
Sabattus police on Wednesday posted a bulletin on Facebook to alert the public about Blaisdell’s wanted status. Police said the post generated several tips, including one report that the suspect had been spotted at Old Orchard Beach.
“We know he’s in the area,” said Sabattus Police Chief Gary Baillargeon.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the Sabattus Police Department or investigating Officer Christopher Miller at 375-6952.
