LISBON — Paul Martin Mason Sr., 78, went to be home with the Lord on Saturday, June 3, with his caring wife by his side.

He was born May 20, 1939, in Phippsburg. His first job as a young boy was on the Warren Dairy Farm, where he worked after school on his way home from the Little Yellow School House on Ridge Road, Lisbon. He married his soul mate, Olivia (Sis) Garnett on October 25, 1959.

He worked for Modern Roofing and Siding in the early ’60s while in the Presque Isle area. He had an admirable work ethic as evidenced having installed 106 square feet of three-tab lock roofing in a single day with two other co-workers. In the early ’80s, he started his own business, Paul Mason and Sons Roofing and Siding.

He was also a man who loved being home, but traveled the world with his wife. He enjoyed detailing his cars and trucks, mowing the lawn and through gardening keeping their home beautifully surrounded with flowers, shrubs and trees. He appreciated harvesting and cutting his own firewood, taken from his woodlot, which allowed him to use his tractor, wood splitter and chain saw.

He is survived by his wife; four children, Rick Mason and his wife, Gina, Paul Mason Jr. and his wife, Kim, Brenda Mason Lavers, and Steve Mason and his partner, James O’Sullivan; nine grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. He will be greatly missed.
