Some things can only be changed by a majority of the people. Town employees of Rumford and most of their relatives will vote to keep things as they have been for far too long.
Residents have an opportunity to change the downward spiral this town has been in due to the same old patterns of thinking and spending. Clearly there is a need for common sense and fiscal responsibility on the board of selectmen.
I hope others will join me in voting for Mark Belanger and Steve Dyment. Only they will change the balance of power on the board and put Rumford on the road to sound decisions.
Dick Pratt, Rumford
