Cribbage tournament set for Saturday

CANTON — There will be a cribbage tournament to support the town’s bicentennial at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, June 17, in the meeting room at the Town Office, located at 94 Turner St.

Soft drinks and light refreshments will be provided and all fees go toward the town’s bicentennial, which will occur in 2021.

The entry fee is $10 per person and two trophies will be awarded. There will be a separate list of rules and a competition ladder.

LOCKE MILLS — Jackson-Silver Post 68 will be hosting Texas Hold’em, Saturday, June 17, 595 Gore Road. Doors will open at 11 a.m., and games will begin at 1 p.m.

A 50/50 raffle, pull tabs, and refreshments will be available.

Finnish-American Society meeting

WEST PARIS — The Finnish-American Heritage Society of Maine will hold its monthly meeting at 2 p.m. Sunday, June 18, at the FinnAm building on Maple Street.

Following a short business meeting, Dale Piirainen will present a program on the Finnish community in the town of Paris, as reflected in the 1930 US Census. The public is welcome at this event.

Vendors sought for Founder’s Day

PARIS — Vendor applications are being accepted for crafters and artisans to join the 39th annual Founder’s Day and Classic Car Exhibit from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, July 15.

Applicants who reserve a space prior to June 15 will pay only $40 for a 20-foot by 20-foot space. Reservations made between June 15 and July 15 will pay $50 per space.

Proceeds will benefit the Hamlin Memorial Library.
