WAYNE — The Cary Memorial Library sixth annual 5K Walk/Run Race will be held Saturday Aug. 5.
All are welcome to take part in the event to benefit the library.
The course will start at the Wayne Elementary School. For runners, this is primarily a flat course with one good hill. There will be an official timer and prizes for top finishers.
Walkers are welcome — fast walkers in front, kids, pets and strollers toward the back. This is a family-friendly event with prizes for all kid participants.
Registration fee is $15 and all proceeds benefit the library. Mail the forms/checks to the Cary Memorial Library, PO Box 127, Wayne, ME 04284 or drop them off. Registration will begin at 8:15 a.m. with the race starting at 9 a.m.

The Wayne Farmer’s Market is along the route. The Cary Library Lobster Roll Lunch will start at 10 a.m., with lots of fun activities, including a Loon Calling Contest.
