Dance, barbecue in Harrison

HARRISON — The Caswell Conservancy Center will have a dance and barbecue from 7 to 10 p.m. Friday, Aug. 11, at 42 Main St.

Entertainment will be by the country music duo Mike Preston and Kim Curry.

Advance Tickets $20 per person or $35 a couple. Tickets will cost $22 per person and $38 a couple at the door.

Proceeds of this event will benefit the historic Caswell Conservancy Center and the Harrison Lions Club.

West Paris Downhill Derby Aug. 12

WEST PARIS — The West Paris Downhill Derby will race on Saturday, Aug. 12, at the Downhill Derby site on Kingsbury Street.

The rain date will be Sunday, Aug. 13.

Anyone age 7 and older is welcome to participate, and some derby cars are available to use for those who do not have a car.

The next race will be held Saturday, Sept. 9.

Registration is at 9 a.m. Refreshments will be available at the snack shack.

OXFORD — Oxford Hills Duplicate Bridge Club met July 28 for a 10 table Swiss Team event.

Games are played at 9:15 a.m. Fridays in the Oxford Recreation building on King Street. All bridge players are welcome, and partners are guaranteed.
