DEAR SUN SPOTS: On July 29 at AMVETS in New Gloucester, I set up a table of “free” items, asking only for donations with all proceeds going toward a scholarship in my dad’s name. I had made a poster with an American flag attached and there were 2 5- by 7-inch framed pictures of my dad. At some point they disappeared. I assume someone picked them up thinking they were part of the items being donated. However, they were from my personal collection of pictures. If you picked them up, I would very much appreciate it if you could bring them back to the hall or contact me at 576-0995. Thank you. — Rae Jean, No town
ANSWER: I sure hope your photographs are returned!
DEAR SUN SPOTS: I want to thank everyone who suggested answers to my issue with combining photos from different digital media (cameras, phones). Unfortunately the program suggested from Google is no longer available so I resorted to the old-fashioned method of renaming each photo in such a way that I could then combine them in the right sequences.
I still have a question about iCloud. Some of the photos I took were from a digital camera and I uploaded them. I know I can download them to my iPhone (I think) but I don’t know the mechanics of doing this. If anyone can help, I can be reached @ 689-4394 or @ [email protected]. Thanks again to all of you who tried to help before and this time too. — Lucy, No town
ANSWER: You may find your answers at your local library. Many libraries have friendly tech help available during scheduled hours, and it’s free! Another place to contact is the computer tech department of your local college. Sometimes students like to practice their new-found skills!
DEAR SUN SPOTS: Strong Area Health and Dental Center will hold a drive for new school supplies in celebration of National Health Center Week starting Monday, Aug. 14, and ending Friday, Aug. 25. All donations from the community will be brought to Strong Elementary School in an effort to supply students with the tools they need to learn and grow in the classroom.
Some of the most needed classroom supplies include: No. 2 pencils, colored pencils, highlighters, index cards, pocket folders, single-subject notebooks, tissues, lunch bags or boxes, and dry erase markers (low odor, small or fine tip). Every donation makes a difference! — Joshua, No town
