ORANGE PARK, Fla. — Richard Conrad Lagasse, Msgt. USMC (Ret.), passed away Wednesday, Aug. 9, following a brief battle with cancer.
Richard was born Sept. 3, 1935, in Lewiston, the eldest son of Conrad Lagasse and Cecile Ayotte Lagasse. He was a graduate of Lewiston High School. Richard retired from the U.S. Marine Corps following 20 years of distinguished and decorated service, including three tours of duty in Vietnam.
He later retired from Civil Service at NARF following 20 years of service as a metals inspector. He resided in Middleburg, Fla.
Mr. Lagasse is survived by his loving wife of nearly 60 years, Pauline Lagasse; his daughter, Debra Therriault (Richard), and son, David Lagasse; his grandchildren, Christina Coolidge, Melissa Lagasse, Dustin Coolidge, Tiffany Lagasse and Dylan Therriault; great-grandchildren, Zachary Coolidge, Kendall Vicsik, Cooper Therriault, Aubree Therriault, Paisley Vicsik and Raegan Coolidge; and his sisters, Beverly Allaire (Leo) and Juanita Engert.
Richard was predeceased by his parents and his brother, Bobby Lagasse.
