HARRISON — The next “famous” chicken pie supper will be served Saturday, Aug. 19, at Bolsters Mills United Methodist Church. Seatings will be held at 5 and 6 p.m., with a third to accommodate guests if necessary.

Proceeds from the supper will be dedicated to providing scholarships for children wishing to go to Camp Mechuwana this summer, a United Methodist camp in Maine.

The church hosts the chicken pie suppers on the third Saturday of the month through October. The church is handicapped accessible. Pies will be sold at the supper if available.

Reservations will be taken only between 9 a.m. and noon Saturday, the day of the supper.

Cost: $10 for adults; $5 for children younger than 12.

JAY — VFW Post 3335 will host the Grand Opening and Family Day on the patio with a pork cookout, live music, cornhole games and prizes.

It will be from noon to 9 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 19, at 64 Jewel St.

MINOT — Minot United Methodist Church will have a yard sale and a blueberry pancake breakfast Saturday, Aug. 19,  on the corner of Route 121 and Empire Road.

The sale will be held from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., and the breakfast will be from 8 to 10 a.m. 

Proceeds will fund the Minot United Methodist Church and its ministry.

Cost: $7 for breakfast. 

NEW GLOUCESTER — AMVETS Post 6 will serve a baked bean and American chop suey dinner from 5 to 6 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 19.

WILTON — A ham supper will be served from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 19, at the Harland M. Harnden Masonic Building, 70 Bryant Road.

Cost: Adults, $8; children younger than 12, $5.

NORWAY — Oxford Hills Area Association of Churches will serve a Norway Community Free Lunch at 11:30 a.m. Wednesdays at the Universalist Church, 479 Main St.

Anyone can eat a nutritious meal, no questions asked.
