LEWISTON — Roy R. Tassinari, 86, of Auburn passed away peacefully on Tuesday, Aug. 15.
Roy loved life and lived it to the fullest: snowmobiling in the winter, upta camp, boating in the summer, downta camp and numerous activities spending time with family and friends. A member of Maritime Safety Administration, the Coast Guard Auxiliary, VFW, American Legion, Maine Tourism, Maine Beekeepers Association, Sampson Air force group, and various snowmobile clubs were all groups he donated his time to. He also enjoyed his time with the Robin Dow and Auburn Seniors.
After his time in the Air Force, he settled in Auburn. He worked in the shoe industry for New England Counter Company and later running Bellevue by the Sea, their family cottage as a Bed & Breakfast for 28 years, all with his loving wife Mary by his side. He will be sorely missed.
Roy is survived by his loving wife, Mary, of 62 years; their children, Peter, David, Karen, Mark, Robert, Patty and their spouses; eight grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and his sister, Connie Tassinari.
Friends and family are invited to share their memories and offer their condolences by visiting Roy’s online guestbook at www.thefortingroupauburn.com.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
