TURNER — Tommaso Lumberto Tempesta, 64, died at his home in Turner with his adoring wife.

He will be missed always and thought of lovingly for the amazing legacy he left to us all.

Tommaso was born on Nov. 18, 1952, the son of Luigi and Anna Tempesta. Although he was born here, Tommaso spoke Italian until the third grade. He told some very funny and touching stories of himself as a young boy trying to fit in at school. Tommaso was so very proud of his Italian heritage.

Tommaso joined the Army when he was just 17. He was very humble about his service in Vietnam and the sacrifices he made for all of us. He always said he would do it again in a minute. He was a kind, generous and loving man, with a creative mind and a wild sense of humor.

Tommaso worked throughout his life for the Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife in various capacities. He was also an animal damage control officer for the Town of Turner. Tommaso was a structural engineer and he owned and operated a welding and fabrication business before his retirement. He was an avid outdoorsman, hunter, trapper and fisherman, and a wonderful cook.

He is survived by his wife, Diane; three daughters, Tina Garnett and her husband, Todd, Chesari Dubois and her husband, Brian, and Toni Tempesta; three grandchildren, Grant and Audrey Garnett, and Liam Dubois; a brother, Jerry Tempesta; and a sister, Dale Tempesta.

Besides his parents, Tommaso was predeceased by a brother, Tony; a sister, Elaine; and a niece, Katie.

Tommaso will be loved and in our hearts forever.
