High school sports coverage is proudly supported by Maine State Credit Union.
Coach: Joe Fletcher (eighth year)
Conference: MVC Class: C South
Last year’s record: 14-2-2, lost in state final
Returning players: Seniors — Avery Pomerleau (F), Wade Coulombe (F), Nic Dovinsky (M), Cody Roy (M), Bradley Neal (G), Dylan Goff (D), Shane Kenniston (M); Junior — Corey Armstrong (D); Sophomores — Gabe Martin (M), Thomas Neal (D).
Key losses: All-State player Hunter Richardson, Travis Hartford, Mat Foulke.
Promising newcomers: Connor Davies, Ed Zuis, Cody Michaud, Cameron Armstrong, Brock Bates, Nate Ashton.
What to expect: Expectations are high for the defending regional champions. The Mustangs return much of the team that made it all the way to the Class C state championship game. Fletcher will look to his “stubborn” defense of Armstrong, Kenniston, Goff and the Neal brothers to try and equal last year’s grand total of nine goals allowed. Both coach and players expect a return trip to the state final.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
