DIXFIELD — The Mystic Valley Grange will have indoor yard sales from 4 to 6 p.m. Fridays, Sept. 15 and Oct. 6, next to the East Dixfield Fire Station.

There will be many useful items. All proceeds to benefit the Grange and community projects.

MEXICO — The Mexico Bicentennial Committee will be at the Cruise-In at the Abbott Farm Plaza, Route 2, Rumford, on Saturday, Sept. 16. The committee will have for sale t-shirts, hoodies, ceramic “spooner” mugs, sip ‘n’ flip aluminum mugs and commemorative coins.

The committee is looking at other places for sales and has confirmed that it will participate in the Pumpkin Fest on Congress Street on Saturday, Oct. 14, and the Oktoberfest at the Hope Association on Saturday, Oct. 21.

The committee needs community help in making at least two quilts. Members have muslin quilt squares to be decorated. The squares may be decorated in any appropriate permanent crafting method. One finished quilt will be donated to the Mexico Town Office, and any additional quilts will be raffled during the bicentennial year. More information will be available at the tables mentioned above.

There will also be a free Bicentennial Quilting Course through Region 9 on Tuesday and Wednesday, Nov. 14 and 15, with four teachers available to show people a variety of ways to create a square. Contact Region 9 for more information.

Mexicopoly Games are expected soon. If anyone has pre-ordered a game, someone should be contacting them for pickup.

WATERFORD — An indoor yard sale will be held from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday, Sept. 16, in the Wilkins House basement on Plummer Hill. 

All proceeds will go to the upkeep of the meetinghouse and the Waterfod Congregational Church.

NEW GLOUCESTER — Required pre-ordering of apple pies for the annual New Gloucester Historical Society Apple Pie Sale is open.

Pies will be made with native and be offered baked or unbaked. The cost is $9 each.

Pickup will be between 2 and 6 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 29, at the First Congregational Church on Gloucester Hill Road.
