According to a telegram received yesterday by the exemption board for District No. 2 of Androscoggin county from Adjutant General Pressen, the men of that district are to report September 18 instead of the date before named. This was to be September 22 but a change in the transportation arrangements has made it necessary to start them for Ayer, Mass., earlier than planned. The men are notified to report at least 12 hours before the time of departure. Suggestion is made that men are expected to wear comfortable and serviceable shoes so as to have them for a change while they are breaking in the government shoes that will be supplied them upon their arrival at Ayer, Mass. Any failure to report as and when required by this letter is regarded as a serious military offense punishable by court martial. The suggestions as to baggage contained in pink card must be strictly followed. The men of District No. 1 are ordered to report at the office of the exemption board on Lisbon street, on the afternoon of Tuesday, September 18 and will entrain on the same train with the men from the Auburn territory, Wednesday morning.

Police Officer Larry Brown shows one skeptical looking student the camera while Officer Guy Matton gives an explanation.
