AUBURN — Percis M. Crimmel, 75, of Fayette, passed away peacefully Sunday evening, Sept. 17, at Hospice House of Androscoggin in Auburn, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born Sept. 19, 1941, in North Jay, the daughter of Arthur Brown and Methyl (Wilkins) Brown. She was a 1959 graduate of Livermore Falls High School and continued her education at San Diego State University.

Percis worked as a waitress in San Diego and after returning to Maine she worked for Livermore Shoe in Livermore Falls and for Allen Edmonds Shoe in Lewiston.

On July 14, 1969, in Las Vegas, she married her husband of 48 years, Jon Crimmel. Percis enjoyed traveling, camping and kayaking.

She is survived by her husband, Jon Crimmel of Fayette; daughters, Frances Hunton and her husband, Jeff, of Taunton, Mass., and Mary Crimmel of San Diego, Calif.; sons, Bruce Lehto of Augusta, and George Crimmel II of San Diego, Calif.; nine grandchildren; her sisters, Jeanne Burhoe of Medford, Ore., Gay Reeve of Farmington, Mary Broad and her husband, Robert of Readfield, Doris Black of Farmington and Dosey Pike and her husband, Anthony, of Greenville and New Zealand.

She was predeceased by her parents; her sister, Barbara Whittemore; and three brothers, Arthur, Herbert and David Burhoe.
