NORWAY — The 2017 English Hand Bell Choir and the Christmastide Choir of the Second Congregational Church are recruiting new members.
For the past 18 years, the Christmastide Choir and Bell Choir, composed of church and community members, has presented an exuberant seasonal/sacred concert to a full house. The tradition continues this year.
The Christmastide Choir begins rehearsals at 3 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 24, at the church, 205 Main St. All voices and all ages are encouraged to join. No memorization, no auditions and no church affiliation is required. All are welcome.
For the Hand Bell Choir, weekly rehearsals will start in early October and continue until performances in the community Christmastide Concerts at 3 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 9, and Sunday, Dec. 10. Previous experience is preferred. No church affiliation is required.
Anyone interested in ringing should contact director Elaine Emery at [email protected] or the church office at 207-743-2290 to arrange an interview.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
