LEWISTON — Oxford Hills SCORE is offering a workshop on buying or selling a business, to be held from 6 to 9 p.m. Monday, Oct. 23, at the Lewiston-Auburn Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce Community Room, 415 Lisbon St.
Brian Hanson, the presenter, is the president of Maine Business Brokers and has 18 years of entrepreneurial experience. Brian joined and then acquired Maine Business Brokers after starting and buying numerous businesses in Maine and New Hampshire.
Avoid common mistakes by asking the right questions and understanding how the process works. This workshop will help answer:
• Are you really a buyer or seller?
• How and where should you search for a business or find a buyer?
• How do you value a business?
• What are common issues and problems encountered in a business sale ?
• What is due diligence?
• What will you need to do to finalize a business acquisition?
