STEM programming at Library
LEWISTON — The Lewiston Public Library and Museum L-A will partner and bring STEM programming to the library at 4 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 17.
Participants will use the weaving machines to make straw looms to craft creations, bracelets, bookmarks and headbands.

Women’s suffrage talk at society
NEW GLOUCESTER — Family historian Anne Gass will present “Women’s Suffrage in Maine and the USA” at the next meeting of the New Gloucester Historical Society.
It will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 19, at the New Gloucester Meetinghouse, 389 Intervale Road, Route 231.
It is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be served.
Widows Connection monthly breakfast
AUBURN — For widows who are seeking fellowship, encouragement, support and fun, the East Auburn Baptist Church will host a monthly Widows Connection breakfast at 9 a.m. on the third Saturday of the month.
Following breakfasts, the widows will have a 30- to 40-minute workshop on different topics of interest.
The workshop is free, and the breakfast costs $5. Reservations are required.
