Animal Advocates annual meeting

DIXFIELD — The River Valley Animal Advocates’ eighth annual members meeting will be held Sunday, Oct. 22, in back of the Dixfield Fire Station.

Voting for the board will be from 1 to 2 p.m., and the board of directors meeting will start at 2:15 p.m.

Everyone is invited.

Halloween mask-making at ERD

FARMINGTON — Everyone’s Resource Depot will hold Halloween mask-making workshops Monday through Friday, Oct. 23 to 27.

Many creative ideas for masks, costumes and party decorations made from the assortment of reusable materials will be shared with workshop participants. Materials in good supply for mask-making include orange, sparkly felt, yarn, buttons, stickers, paper of all kinds, leather scraps, feathers, ribbon and fabric.

A small fee will be charged for materials and instruction. All ages are welcome.

The Depot is in the Education Center, Room 9, at High and Lincoln streets. It is open to the public from 3 to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and from 10 a.m. to noon Tuesday and Thursday.

Franklin County Extension annual meeting 

CHESTERVILLE — The Franklin County Extension Association will hold its 98th annual meeting and public supper from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 1, at the Chesterville Town Office, 409 Dutch Gap Road.

The turkey supper begins at 6 p.m. The annual meeting will follow.

Supper is $10 per person; reservations are required by Tuesday, Oct. 24. Checks payable to Franklin County Extension Association should be mailed to University of Maine Cooperative Extension, 138 Pleasant St., Suite 1, Farmington, ME, 04938.

Women’s club to meet

LIVERMORE FALLS — The Livermore Falls Women’s Club will meet at 9:30 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 26, at the North Livermore Baptist Church, 619 Federal Road.

State President Mary Libby and District 2 President June Nickerson-Hovey will be in attendance. The club will select organizations that will benefit from the club’s election bake sales in November and June as well as present the calendar of events for the coming year.

4th Thursday Poetry night

RUMFORD — The monthly poetry gathering of Rumford Public Library’s 4th Thursday Poetry will be at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 26, at the library.

Poets and poetry lovers may bring their own poems or poems of their favorite poets to read and discuss.

Light refreshments will be provided. The meeting is free and open to the public.

Bethel Seniors to meet

LOCKE MILLS — Bethel Senior Citizen Club will meet at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 8, at the American Legion Hall on Gore Road.

The meal will be chicken pot pie and cost $10. Reservations must be made before Nov. 1.
