On Nov. 7, I will vote to elect councilor Adam Lee as Auburn’s new mayor.

Having served as Auburn’s mayor, I believe the mayor can significantly influence how the city is governed. I am confident that Lee will be an effective and active mayor, addressing whatever issues the city will face in the next two years.

As a city councilor, he has shown a thoughtful, reasoned approach to governing. He listens well and applies his skills to reach cooperative decisions with others. Whatever the issue, he will face it head on with the city’s best interests in mind.

Auburn residents have been fortunate with his legislative skills and experience as councilor, and they have a wonderful opportunity to elevate him to mayor, where he can lead the city to new successes with economic development, schools and finances.

I support Adam Lee to be Auburn’s new mayor.

Richard Trafton, Auburn
