BRUNSWICK — Katherine T. Rand (Tierney), 78, formerly of Lewiston and most recently of Brunswick, passed away Monday, Oct. 30.
She was born in Lewiston on Nov. 26, 1938, the daughter of Clara and John Tierney. She was educated in Lewiston schools and later went on to work in housekeeping for Maine Medical Center until she retired in 2006.
Katherine was a wonderful, caring person who touched the lives of everyone who was lucky enough to meet her. She loved going to the movies to see the latest horror flicks, watching wrestling every Monday night, swimming and going for walks. She was an avid New England sports fan who was always rooting for the Red Sox and Patriots.
She leaves behind her daughter, Gina Glavine and her granddaughter, Serina Richardson; her close nieces, Marryann Bailey, Carol Tierney and Jennifer Williams; her favorite granddog, Diamond; and many other nieces, nephews, family and friends.
She is now with her sister, brothers and parents … forever in our hearts.
