ROCKLAND — Constance (Connie) H. Kane Tripp, 85, died Monday, Nov. 20, in Rockland, after a long illness.

Connie was born Aug. 16, 1932, in South Portland, a daughter of Clinton D. Kane Sr. and Mary L. (Whitney) Kane. She was raised in Portland and graduated from Cathedral High School in 1950.

After graduation she worked at W.T. Grant Department Stores and New York Life before marrying and moving to Livermore Falls to raise her family.

She loved gardening, feeding wild birds and high school basketball. She was very proud of her Irish heritage. Connie devoted her life to her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed a special bond with her daughter, Janet.

Connie is survived by her daughter, Susan and her husband, Gilles of New Gloucester and their children, Alison Fraser and Erin Fraser; her son, Stephen and his wife, Sherry of Warren and their children, Brandon Tripp, Hayley Tripp Genthner and Breanna Tripp Curry; her sister, Marilyn Cowan of Portland; and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her parents; her twin daughters, Janet and Jean Tripp; her brothers, Clinton D. Kane Jr. and Daniel Kane; and her sister, Dorothy Kane.
