PERU — Louise W. Gerrish, 94, died Wednesday, Nov. 22, at her residence in Peru.

Louise was born in Dixfield on Aug. 2, 1923, the daughter of Clyde and Harriet (Farrar) Wright, and graduated from Dixfield High School, Class of 1941.

For many years she worked in area shoe shops and woolen mills as a factory worker. She enjoyed gardening, line dancing, roller skating and skiing.

She was married July 17, 1941, to Sylvestus A. “Vetty” Gerrish, who died July 31, 2001. Survivors include daughters, Tania Nitsche and husband, Bob of Danville, Vt., and Dawn Herrick and former husband, Charlie of New Gloucester; son, David Gerrish and wife, Joan of Turner; nine grandchildren, Kirsten Keach, Karl Nitsche, Erin Mitchell and husband, Greg, Megan Herrick, Bryna Latham and husband, Matthew, Jill and D.J. Gerrish, Holly Herrick and Brittany Rodriguez and husband, Luis; six great-grandchildren, Cayla Keach, Maren and Aidan Nitsche, Thea Louise Latham, Alexandra Mitchell and Elijah Rodriguez; sister, Evelyn Storey of Bakersfield, Calif.; and a brother, Howard Wright and wife, Patricia of Inverness, Fla.; and Louise’s beloved dog, “Chloe.”
