UPDATE: Lisbon police say Big Apple robbery suspect had a knife
LISBON FALLS — A man armed with a knife robbed the Big Apple store on Lisbon Street late Wednesday before fleeing with cash from the register.
Police were searching for a suspect wearing black who reportedly fled on foot after robbing the store at about 11 p.m.
A clerk at the store said nobody was hurt.
Lisbon police were gathered at the store later Wednesday night interviewing potential suspects and preparing to search for the suspect.
Lisbon Street convenience stores have been a target for robberies in recent weeks. Earlier in the month, a clerk at USA Gas at 1892 Lisbon St. in Lewiston reported he was robbed by a man with a gun on the evening of Nov. 13. He was robbed again at gunpoint three nights later.
Lewiston police are continuing to investigate those heists.
