Isabella Gendron holds Shep, a cat awaiting adoption at the Greater Androscoggin Humane Society, 55 Strawberry Ave., Lewiston. Gendron, an eighth-grader at St. Dominic’s Academy in Auburn, presented GAHS with the donations from her community service project, a component of the Miss Holly Pageant held in Kennebunk. She organized the donation drive to collect pet food, all of which will help with the care of the thousands of unwanted animals the humane society helps each year.
