AUBURN — The cellphone belonging to a 17-year-old male walking in the vicinity of Washburn Elementary School on Lake Auburn Avenue was stolen Monday afternoon by a 17-year-old female who reportedly had a gun tucked into her waistband, police said.
The call came in to police as a robbery; the phone was later returned.
It’s unknown whether a gun was actually involved and, if so, whether it was real, police said.
The incident remains under investigation.
