BETHEL — Boothbay ran the fast break to perfection to score 45 points in the first half and fly away from Telstar, 77-46, in MVC boys’ basketball action Thursday.
Steve Reny led a balanced Boothbay scoring attack with 17 points. Eli Goodrow added 15 and Kyle Ames 13 for the Seahawks (4-2).
Jarrett Bean made 9 of 9 free throws to lead all scorers with 22 points for the Rebels (1-6). He also pulled down 10 rebounds. Aaron Vermette and Blake Rothwell added 10 points apiece.
Girls’ basketball
Boothbay 53, Telstar 29
BETHEL — Paige Brown led all scorers with 19 points to lead Boothbay past Telstar, 53-29, in MVC girls’ basketball action Thursday.
Faith Blethen and Glory Blethen added 14 points apiece for the Seahawks (6-0). Lucy Rothwell led the Rebels (0-6) with 14 points and 21 rebounds. Aneah Bartlett added 11 points.
