NEW BERN, N.C. — George Harry Parsons, 85, of New Bern, N.C., passed away on Saturday, Jan. 13.
Born in Lewiston in the fall of 1932, George made his home in Maine for most of his life until moving to North Carolina in 2010 to be close to his family.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and had worked with the special needs community as an supervisor with the State of Maine until his retirement. In New Bern, George was a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church where he enjoyed being a part of a weekly Men’s Bible Study and volunteering with Unity Missions.
He is survived by his sister, Grace Canady; special friend, Diana Reid; niece, Shannon Canady; as well as numerous other nieces and nephews.
