Reading the story “Gray goats and hikers make up ‘herd'” (Forecaster story, reprinted in the Sun Journal Jan. 21) brought back memories of the 1980s.
I was walking with my goats in the woods in the evening. It started getting dark so I headed for home. I got to a fork and couldn’t remember which way to go. I stood there for a while and then Pica, one of my Toggenburg goats, decided that if I didn’t want to get home, she did. So off she went. The rest of the goats and I followed her to the barn.
At least she knew where we were supposed to be going.
