NORWAY — Frank L. Farrington, 85, of South Paris and Norway, went home to his Lord and Savior on Thursday, Jan. 18, surrounded by his family and loving friends. Frank was born in Rumford on June 17, 1932, to J. Everett and Lila Murphy Farrington. He attended local schools and later joined the U.S. Army from December 1952 to November 1954, where he proudly served his country.

On June 4, 1955, he married the love of his life, Annette (Robichaud). Frank and Annette raised a family of four: Marie, Thomas (Tom), Rodney and Frank. The couple shared 61 years together before Annette’s passing last January. In earlier years, Frank worked at the local tannery and eventually became a truck driver for Sanborn’s Express and APA Trucking. He was forced to retire after an injury left him disabled.

The family spent many years at their home on Hobbs Pond in Norway. After retiring, the winters were spent at their home in Florida. Frank enjoyed the visits from family and loved driving them around to see the sights and, of course, never taking the same route twice. He also enjoyed the trips they took to the Allagash with special friends. In the last year he became an avid bingo player and enjoyed the music provided by local musicians at the Maine Veterans’ Home in South Paris. Frank always had a smile and a good word for anyone who crossed his path. He made friends easily and enjoyed telling a joke or two along the way. Frank had a strong Christian faith and for many years attended Grace Fellowship Church.

Frank leaves behind his children, Marie (Randy) Stevens; sons, Rodney and Frank; daughter-in-law, Karen Farrington; grandchildren, Ryann (Eric) Philbrook, Christopher (Elizabeth) Stevens, Cassie Farrington; as well as three great-grandchildren, LC, Aiden and Andrew. He was predeceased by his parents; his wife, Annette; his son, Tom; and sisters, Gloria and Linda.

Online condolences may be shared with his family at www.chandlerfunerals.com.
