LEWISTON — Muriel L. Charette, 85, passed away peacefully with her loving family by her side Wednesday, Jan. 24, at St. Mary’s Hospital in Lewiston. She was born in Lewiston on Oct. 30, 1932, the daughter of the late Gustave and Zenaide (Lemay) Normand.

Muriel lived in Maine her entire life. She graduated from St. Dom’s. On Nov. 22, 1956, she married the love of her life, Richard Charette, and they shared a loving marriage of over 32 years until his passing in 1988. The two of them enjoyed dancing, attending Knights of Columbus events and sharing experiences. She worked various jobs, but prominently for Ward Brothers for over 15 years. Muriel loved spending time with her close friends and family. She liked Sunday dinners and traveling. She will be missed dearly by all.

Muriel is survived by her daughter, Janice, and husband, Dave, of Lewiston; her three sons, Rick and wife, Brenda, of Sabattus, Gerry and Tammy, of Poland, Dan and Rachel, of Sabattus; her seven grandchildren, Nikki, Justin and wife, Brittany, Stephanie, Matt, Brian and wife, Billy Jo, Jason and wife, Corey, and Zac; her five great-grandchildren, Aubrey, Jocelyn, Gannon, Avery and Amelia.

She was predeceased by her parents; her husband; her daughter, Diane; her brother, Raymond.
