RUMFORD — Theresa (Roy) Crawford, 94, of Mexico, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 23, at the Rumford Community Home, surrounded by family.
She was born Nov. 13, 1923, in Rumford, the daughter of Alfred and Claudia (Thibodeau) Roy. Theresa was educated and worked in the Rumford area for all her life.
She was a communicant of the Parish of the Holy Savior, and a past member of the St. Theresa’s Ladies Guild.
She married Victor R. Crawford on Nov. 28, 1953, at St. Theresa’s Church in Mexico. They made their home in Mexico, with their family, for 53 years. Victor passed away Feb. 22, 2007.
Theresa enjoyed traveling, shopping and eating out. She spent many hours playing cards and board games with her sister, Rita, and other family members. One of her favorite pastimes was baking goodies for her family and friends. She had a kind heart who always put others before herself. She loved holidays, cookouts and spending time with the people she loved.
She will be greatly missed and always loved by her family.
She is survived by sons Alfred C. Roy of Roxbury and Lee A Crawford of Mexico; her stepson, Robert Jackson, and wife, Kim, of Milford, Kan.; her daughters Janna M. Schuster and her husband, Bill, of Peru and Lisa A. Puiia and her husband, Mario, of Rumford; her grandchildren: Corinna Roy and her companion, Doug Duguay; Shawn Roy and wife, Julie; and Kayla Coulomber and her husband, Justin; two step-grandchildren: Robyn and Karyn; and many great- and great-great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her parents; her sister, Rita; and two very special nieces Ann and Priscilla.
The family would like to thank the caring staff at the Rumford Community Home, Androscoggin Hospice Care and her special caregivers Jill, Barbara, Beverly and Louise for their kind and comforting care.
